Privacy Policy

FoundryNet collects as little as a website can. There are no user accounts, no forms, no comment system, no newsletter and no advertising. No cookies are set by this site, and nothing on it tracks you across other sites.

Aggregate analytics. To learn which guides are read and whether pages load quickly, the site uses privacy-first, cookieless analytics provided by its hosting network. When a page loads, a small script reports the page address, the referring site and page performance timings. It sets no cookies, collects no personal data and does not follow you across sites. The figures are only ever viewed as aggregate totals; they are not used for advertising and are never sold.

Theme preference. If you switch between the terminal and paper themes, the choice is stored in your browser's local storage under the key fn-theme. It never leaves your device and you can clear it from your browser settings.

Request logs. The hosting edge that serves the site records standard request metadata (requested URL, response status, approximate timestamp, user agent, and a truncated or hashed client address) for a short period to keep the site reliable and to detect abuse. These logs are not used to build profiles and are not shared with advertisers.

Email. If you write to the editor, your message and address are kept only as long as needed to reply and act on it, then deleted. They are not added to any list.

External links. Sources are cited as plain text. Where a page links to another site, that site's own privacy policy applies once you leave.

What is not collected. The site never asks for a name, an email address or a payment. It runs no fingerprinting, no session replay, no heat maps and no advertising or social media tags, and it embeds no third-party fonts, videos or widgets that could observe a visit. Images and stylesheets are served from the site's own address. Nothing is shared with data brokers, because nothing that identifies a person is held.

Legal basis and your rights. The small amount of data processed (edge request logs and any email you choose to send) is handled on the basis of legitimate interest in running a reliable, secure reference site. You can ask what is held about you, or ask for an email thread to be deleted early, through the contact page. The terms of use cover the separate question of how the content may be used.
